年々HSBC香港おける日本居住者の銀行口座開設が難しくなっています。
弊社でサポートする窓口であると2019年もそれほど高い英会話が能力がなくとも開設できていますが、開設後も長く海外の口座を有効活用するためにも、最低限の外国語能力は必要なのは言うまでもありません。
どうしても、英会話がまったくできないようですと、HSBC香港以外の銀行や開設を検討することをおすすめします。2016年以降、中国本土の旅行者は中国語が当然利用できるため難なく口座開設ができている一方、日本からの旅行者は口座開設後にしなければならない設定はともかく、書類不備のほか、特に英会話能力のせいで口座開設もできずに日本に帰国するといった方がたくさんいると聞いています。また、英会話能力で開設を断った記録はHSBC香港のデータベースに残ってしまうので次回トライしたい場合にも、それが大きな障害となってしまいます。

HSBCの担当者にまず口座開設したい旨をつげる　Open an Account First

弊社のIFA(投資顧問会社)のようなHSBCとリレーションシップを構築できている場合に限り、高い英会話能力が必要なくとも、従前どおり口座開設が行われていくことになり、大人数を扱うような普通の口座開設業者は淘汰されていくものと思われます。
